Tom  Voyce

January 5, 1981 - December 8, 2024
Home Town: Cornwall

A serial champion whose electric speed and vibrant personality lit up Kingsholm and High Wycombe alike, Tom Voyce was a world-class finisher with a heart as big as his talent.

Gloucester Rugby is devastated to learn of the passing of former Cherry & White, Tom Voyce.

The 43-year-old made 38 appearances for the Club following his move from London Wasps in 2009. With nine England caps to his name, the fullback was part of the 2011 LV= Cup-winning Gloucester team, scoring the opening try.

Alex Brown, CEO of Gloucester Rugby and former teammate of Tom’s, said:

“This is truly heartbreaking news. Tom was such a bright light in every room. His rugby talent was evident – he was part of a winning team for Gloucester and a very dominant Wasps outfit, and his talents were rightly recognised by England; an achievement I know he was immensely proud of.

“Personally, Voycey was a good friend. We toured together in Canada on the Churchill Cup and then continued our friendship when he joined Gloucester. We shared some memorable experiences both on and off the field together and I’m sure, like me, everyone associated with the Club and the wider rugby community will be shocked and deeply saddened by his loss.

“We send our heartfelt condolences to his wife, Anna, his young son, and his family and friends.”

The Club will recognise Tom’s legacy at its next home fixture on Friday 20 December against Harlequins.
