Born in Kingsholm, Gloucester, just "70 yards from the corner flag.

Attended St Mark’s Primary School and Sir Thomas Rich’s Grammar School.

Played in the final England Schools trial at Kingsholm; named a traveling reserve for the international match against Wales.

Joined Gloucester RFC early in the 1956-57 season after brief stints with Longlevens and Spartans.

Made his 1st XV debut against Oxford University just days before his 18th birthday.

Made his county debut for Gloucestershire against Devon

The "Kingsholm Regular": Mickey remained a fixture at Kingsholm for decades. He was famously known for attending matches alongside his close friend and fellow Gloucester legend, Peter Ford.

He expanded his coaching reach, notably serving as a coach for the England Under-21s squad (circa 1993), sharing his tactical expertise with the next generation of international players.

He was honored as a Life Member of Gloucester Rugby, a testament to his 475 appearances and 16-year playing career.

He was frequently celebrated by the Gloucester Rugby Heritage community as one of the club's greatest "uncapped" legends, with his record of 41 drop goals remaining a benchmark for the club.

At nearly 80 years old, he traveled to Bilbao, Spain, to support Gloucester in the European Challenge Cup final against Cardiff Blues.

Mickey Booth passed away peacefully but unexpectedly at the age of 86.

Gloucester Rugby officially announced his passing, with the club paying tribute to "The General" and his legendary partnership with Terry Hopson.

His funeral service was held at the Gloucester Crematorium. His family requested donations in his memory for Myotonic Dystrophy, reflecting a cause close to their hearts.
