What is a tribute page?

A tribute page is a web page that tells the story of a person’s life who has passed away. It’s a place where friends and family can say nice things or add stories and simply remember the good things about someone’s life. It’s a legacy for the successors of that person to be able to read and enjoy for generations to come. Our tribute pages sit on the club website. Friends and family can also sponsor community foundation projects in the deceased person’s name, or plant a tree in their memory or order an engraved keepsake of that person.

What do I do if I have a technical problem?

The tribute pages have been designed to be very simple so that everyone can use them but if you have a technical problem simply contact us through the contact us page and we’ll create a ticket to fix your problem within 48 hours.

How much does a tribute page cost?

Tribute pages are free to create and manage.

What happens if two of us have created page for the same person?

It is easy to avoid this by searching for the deceased fan’s name first to see if someone has already created a profile for them. If there are two profiles then talk to the other person and one of you can delete their profile. Tribute pages can have more than one page manager.

Can I send flowers to the family in memory of the deceased?

We ask that you don’t send flowers and that instead, you plant a tree in memory of the deceased which is better for the planet and lasts longer than a bunch of flowers.

Can I sponsor more than one community project?

Yes when you are checking out you can choose to sponsor a multiple of projects in the name of the deceased.

How will the name of the deceased be attached to community projects?

Every recipient of support from you will receive a link to the tribute page of your loved one, telling the stories of their life.

Where will the remembrance trees planted?

The trees are planted either around the stadium, at the training ground, in the local forest or in suburbs around the stadium. You can choose where to plant your remembrance trees on the ‘Plant a Tree’ page.

How long does it take to receive my keepsake of my loved one?

Engraving usually takes longer than buying products that are not personalised but each product is different so look on the page for delivery timeframes. The products come from Manchester so the delivery times should not take too long.

Do you deliver anywhere in the world?

Our delivery partners are worldwide companies but check the terms and conditions on the product page for any exemptions.

What date is the annual fan memorial lunch?

The annual memorial lunch date is slightly different each year but in the same week each year. It is listed on the Annual Memorial Lunch page. This is a lunch held at Kingsholm in loving memory of lost loved ones. Lunch and drinks can be bought in advance online. Online booking allows families and friends to sit and eat together.

What is Legacy of Gloucester?

Legacy of Gloucester is an initiative to remember the people who lived their lives as loyal fans of Gloucester Rugby Club. Fans can be remembered online or offline in meaningful ways so that their legacy can live on through Gloucester Rugby Club.

I am a living fan, can I share my farewell wishes with the club and my next of kin?

Yes please email us and cc your next of kin if you’d like to have your funeral reception or annual remembrance lunch at Gloucester Rugby Club. We’ll do all we can to accommodate your farewell wishes.

Can we scatter our loved one’s ashes on the pitch?

The pitch is relayed approximately every ten years. You can have your loved one’s ashes scattered under the pitch when that time comes. If you’d like to arrange that with us then we simply ask that you create a tribute page and make a donation to the Gloucester Rugby Foundation and we’ll handle the rest. Details can be found on www.legacyofgloucester.com

Can I leave money in my will to the club or the Gloucester Rugby Foundation or to the Club?

Yes you can. Simply contact us via the contact us page and we will gratefully provide you with the relevant form to share with your lawyer.

Please let us know if you had a question that we did not address on the website.
